One of the last year’s most controversial films is not just another of the countless temporary kings of the “sickest movie of all time” category. The unhinged story of an aging porn star drawn into the deepest bowels of the industry is not only shocking in its depravity, but above all very unsettling. And given the subject matter it doesn’t exactly help, that it is well-made and competently acted. The audience in confronted with an ethic dilemma - is this really an expressive metaphor of moral sell-out in Eastern Europe or just plain provocation? Be prepared. Be very prepared.
