It takes all kinds of critters to make farmer Vincent‘s fritters! This year we celebrate the wonders of rural country life and what better title to round-off the annual shockproof festivities than this meaty tale of hicks gone awry. Despite being made in 1980, Motel Hell is as cheesy and as seventies as they come. An affectionate nod to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, the film has all the ingredients of a classic: swingers, pot smoking band-members, psychedelic light shows, dumb blondes who get their tits out and a chainsaw-wielding maniac in a pig mask. Cannibalising, throat-slicing, cackling and chloroforming their way through the movie are Vincent and his sister Ida, serving their own twisted idea of higher purpose and providing folks with the best-tasting smoked meats in the county. A must see for anyone who enjoys 70’s schlock horror and the wonderful sense of humour inherent in the genre.
