The mother of all hidden horror gems, The Boneyard is the first directorial effort of special effects man James Thomas Cummins, who also wrote the script and it very much falls into the range of films where you can't help but wonder WTF?! The plot involves two detectives calling upon a burned-out and overweight psychic investigator asking for her help in finding out the identity of three rotting kiddy corpses down at the morgue. But the three little buggers aren’t really dead, you see… This ultra-low-budget B-movie is all over the place, never quite knowing what it wants to be, but its sloppy inconsistency is its greatest strength. Among other things it offers Phyllis Diller without her famous wig, Norman Fell with a ponytail and above all monsters, the likings of which you’ll never see in any other movie. In short it's just good, goofy fun. That is if you're a mass murderer. Or a certified lunatic. Or a shockproof aficionado.
