One night a powerful demon kidnaps a young boy in order to train him in the ways of black magic. Years later, after a hideous horde of evil demons is unleashed upon the world, the boy - now a man - must return to stop the unholy invasion. The Demon’s Rook is exactly the kind of psychotronic gem we search for in the no-budget DIY horror. Clearly a labour of absolute love for writer/director/effects wizard/star Sizemore and his crew, the film features some amazing practical effects and makeup work, which put most Hollywood CGI bullshit to shame. A hellishly bizarre parade of magic and carnage – it’s simply one of its kind.
