Be My Cat: A Film for Anne is Romania’s first found footage movie. While that sentence accurately describes it, Be My Cat is a film that defies easy classification with the veracity of a wild feline. It’s a film by Adrian Tofei starring Adrian Tofei playing a filmmaker named Adrian. Now, Adrian the character goes to shocking extremes to convince Hollywood actress Anne Hathaway to star in his film. And while doing it, Adrian the director takes meta-filmmaking to mind-bending levels, the resulting film playing like an arthouse snuff film while questioning what constitutes real art. You say WTF? It simply has to be seen. Enough said.
