Hell hath no fury like an oversized drag queen scorned. While Pink Flamingos was the film that made John Waters a name, his personal favourite is his previous trash epic Multiple Maniacs. In it a group of degenerate misfits mount a travelling show called the Cavalcade of Perversions, which goes from town to town with the specific intent of upsetting middle-class squares. Complications ensue when the fearsome and ferocious ringleader Lady Divine discovers that her boyfriend has been cheating on her. Perverted, silly, shocking, and blasphemous, with the strangest rape scene outside of Japanese hentai to top it all off. Even the sparkling restoration of this celluloid atrocity is still filthy. Beware of the lobster!
