The Blob

We gaze up to the stars in the hope of finding a better, more evolved life. But deep in our heart we know, that at best we will encounter some slimy, shapeless bastard, that will turn our bodies into a gooey pile of bones and half-digested organs. Steve McQueen knew this in the 1958 camp classic The Blob and so did the creators of the movie’s imaginative 1988 remake. Having previously worked on the superior Nightmare on Elm Street 3, director Chuck Russell and co-writer Frank Darabont certainly know how to deliver the goods. Oozing with 80s style and dripping with top-notch gory FX, their picture is a blast from start to finish.
