If you are in the mood for lycanthropy, London is the place to go. On the night of a full moon, we bring you another classic from the 80s horror collection. Directed by John Landis at the height of his filmic powers, An American Werewolf in London is a deft mixture of hilarity and horror, that has in many ways set the standard for the modern werewolf movie. Two American college students on the backpacking trip across (un)friendly Yorkshire county encounter the titular mythical beast and all manner of craziness ensues, such as public nudity, ghostly visitations, Nazi wolf nightmares, porno theatre massacres, and of course a bit of a love story with a saucy English nurse. Boasting some truly glorious Oscar-winning effects by Rick Baker, the film still packs a hell of a punch. We dedicate this screening to all medical professionals for their commitment to the fight against coronavirus, because things are gonna get hairy. Stay safe, beware the moon and stick to the road.
