Animation has never been this toxic! Initially a short-lived TV series and one of the most bizarre projects of the consistently low-brow Troma studio, Toxic Crusaders represent Lloyd Kaufman’s attempt to conquer the world of family entertainment by introducing the kiddies to his most iconic character – „the hideously deformed creature of superhuman size and strength“ Toxie from the hit horror comedy Toxic Avenger. Think Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles drenched in good old toxic waste instead of mutagen. Does that sound appealing?
