John Rambo got his first bandana from him, John Matrix once held his gun while peeing, and Chuck Norris named his third testicle after him. Johnny Blaster is simply the manliest hero of all and his escapades will make every 80s action movie lover's eyes and crotch wet. After a long nine-year wait, his latest spectacular adventure finally arrives - set, of course, into outer space!
The Shockproof Film Festival presents the Prague premiere of the new release from Founder Movies, our favourite local producers of trashy pastiche treats. This collective of enthusiasts, headed by Robert Vrba and Jaroslav Fibinger, has previously stormed Cinema Aero with the diptych V1: The Hunters of Carnivorous Bitches (2013) and Vaginator: Dawn of the Bitches (2017). Join us on a lovingly mocking journey across space and time to an era when the term macho action had more to it than just a nicely homoerotic ring.

The by-now-already cult mid-length flick from the Founder Movies collective proudly displays its pedigree. It was conceived by a group of enthusiasts during a steamy act of love for memories of B-movie actioners from the remote shelves video store long lost in time. While the screen assaults the viewer with shots of stern-looking manly faces and pompous gunfights, the soundtrack is dominated by pumping 80s hits and brilliantly corny one-liners and absurdly twisted dialogues inspired by low-cost Czech dubs. Let’s barbecue (but only in Czech)!

Johnny Blaster, the absurdist essence of all 1980s action heroes, returns in the long-awaited sequel. The ultimate macho, whose verbal delivery consists only of badass one-liners and pathos-laden speeches, must once again fight his way through legions of enemies to rescue his once-again kidnapped wife.
While the first The Blaster was mocking macho action flicks featuring Vietnam veterans, in the second, the amateur group Founder Movies ventures into a galaxy of trashy Star Wars rip-offs. James Cameron himself, or rather his young self slaving away on Roger Corman productions, would surely have appreciated the low-cost art direction on display here with its abundance of smoke and neon lights. The nostalgic retro feeling is further enhanced by the pulsating synthwave soundtrack and the involvement of popular stars of the Czech voice-acting scene.
